Last week, edibles became available to the recreational customer. It is now possible to buy a 15mg THC edible, or up to 1,000mg of THC oil. But how do you get the most out of your first edible experience, and how much should you take? Below are three simple ways to make the most of your edibles.

Hydrate

As with many cannabis products, from flowers, to edibles and oils, it is important to keep a glass of water nearby. No one likes being halfway through a movie and having to get up and grab a glass of water. It’s not fun at the movies, and it is even less fun at home. You might also consider various healthy snacks, and comfortable, non-restricting clothing. Especially if you expect to use this time to stretch! Think ahead to make the most of your experience.

Go Slow

Start with five milligrams, wait a few hours, and then add another five milligrams if you feel comfortable doing so. Noticing the subtleties of an edible can take time, as it has a different kind of feeling than flower. Edibles effects can also be much longer lasting, so if you have something important, (such as a family function or job coming up in the next few hours) you might wait, so you can consume in a space where you have the time and ability to pay attention to what is happening inside your body.

Be Aware of Environment

Different environments can also interact with your edibles or oil experience. A few things to think about before consuming include; whether you are comfortable with the people around you, whether you are in a private or public setting, and whether there are any inherent dangers around you to keep in mind while consuming. Don’t leave your sneakers in the middle of the room, fall asleep, and trip over your sneakers in the night. It’s no fun.
